Teen sensation Demi Lovato has been known for being super tight with her family – and she’s recently opened up about her birth father to Twist magazine.

Demi was only two years old when her parents split up, but just because Demi was young doesn’t mean that it didn’t effect her. “I wrote a song about it” Demi told Twist in a recent interview. “It’s definitely the most personal song I’ve ever written, it’s called ‘For the Love of a Daughter.’ I wrote it about my relationship with my father, so it’s a personal, personal song.”
Demi has mentioned to the press that the only father figure in her life is her step dad Eddie De La Garza, as her birth father is no longer in her life.

“You try to have faith in somebody,” Demi says about her birth father “But when somebody lets you down so many times after you’ve been the only one there for them, you don’t know what to do.”

Despite not having her birth father in her life, Demi always has her two sisters – Dallas and Madison to be there for her, along with her mom and stepfather.
