She already has two hit albums to her credit, and for her third effort Demi Lovato says she’s going for a more soulful approach.

The “Sonny with a Chance” actress told press she’s already working on new material and feels pumped about taking things in a new direction.

“I’m working on new music, writing new songs, trying to approach a different route, doing a new sound. I’m really excited. It’ll be fun. It’s more R&B/pop. I’m trying to bring out my inner ‘soul’; a new side of Demi. I’m straying away from the rock this time.”

“I’m really excited for working on new music in the spare time that I have before I go out on tour with the Jonas Brothers.”

Demi Lovato posted on Twitter just a few weeks ago about her new song and JJJ has the details!

The 17-year-old singer posted, “Writing a song that I think my South American fans will love…. this ones for you guys.”

Demi shared with JJJ exclusively at the 2010 VH1 Do Something Awards about the song, saying, “It’s a song that I wrote which has a very Spanish feel to it. I actually sing a bit of Spanish on the track too. It’s actually inspired by someone I met while I was in South America. It’s a true story and kind of like a fairytale.”

Teen Vogue cover girl Demi Lovato has created a fashion-themed music video for her song “Me, Myself & Time.” The video launches tomorrow on Disney Living’s YouTube site, but we were lucky enough to receive an exclusive sneak peek. The music video follows a young girl on her first day back to school wearing outfits from the D-Signed clothing line, a collaboration between Target and Disney that is set to debut for back-to-school 2010. The line is geared towards tweens and is inspired by Disney Channel characters, including Demi’s character Sonny Munroe from Sonny with a Chance. Check out the video to find out Demi’s top fashion tips and see a mixed and matched look from the D-Signed line! The full video will be released here tomorrow.

Joe Jonas only narrowly avoided an awkward moment with his ex Demi Lovato on the red carpet in Hollywood last night.

The pair knew they would be attending the VH1 Do Something awards together for months in advance but after they split in May the evening was set to be fraught with tension.

What do Disney star Demi Lovato,17, and Kim Kardashian have in common? Curves—and confidence. “I just love the way that she dresses,” Lovato told PEOPLE at the kickoff concert for General Growth Properties’s “Shop Till You Rock”, a music-inspired mall tour and fashion event at the Glendale Galleria on Saturday. “She wears clothes that fit her body… I’ve been embracing my body as I’ve been getting older, I’m starting to have curves and I’m embracing it and kind of looking to her style to help me out with that.” Even though summer is still in swing, Lovato is already excited about fall style options. “I’m really excited about just fall in general–like the scarves, the handbags, the coats and awesome jeans, and boots, and tights,” says Lovato, who stars in Disney’s upcoming movie Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and is touring with Jonas Brothers later this summer.

Demi Lovato let her fans know yesterday that she was in the studio recording her first song for her third album – and she wasn’t alone! Demi hit the studio with self-described “Multi Platinum Producer/Musician/Songwriter & Artist” Dapo Torimiro.

Dapo is not only a songwriter for the Disney Channel, but he also wrote music for the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” which stars Demi and the Jonas Brothers.

Demi Tweeted about her time in the studio:

With @dapotorimiro! This will be the first song I’ve recorded for my next record…. and we’re starting off with a BIG bang!!!

American Idol alum heard that Demi was in the studio with Dapo and he sent the following message to the Disney star:

@ddlovato Dapo! He is awesome! Tell him hi for me!

To which Dapo responded

Hey David! YOU are awesome – and Demi is incredible!!

We can’t wait to hear the song Demi and Dapo were working on! We’ll keep you posted on Demi’s third album!

Demi Lovato is using her tween fame to address TV’s latest hot-button topic — bullying.

“Bullying is a very serious thing to me, I’ve witnessed it first hand — I was bullied myself when I was 12,” says Lovato, now 17, referring to how classmates picked on her because she was a working actress. Things got so bad, she turned to home schooling.

Lovato, who’s hooked up with teensagainstbullying.org, says that her 8-year-old little sister Madison De La Garza, who stars on “Desperate Housewives,” has helped inspire her passion for the subject. • Read full story…
